This toon, “Martyr Hymn Sing,” is one of the few RefToons that is not based on any particular quote or person. The idea for this toon came from a compilation of accounts of martyrs who went to their death fearlessly praising the Lord. What a testimony!
The dialogue between the martyrs suggests that “Death is swallowed up in victory.” Ultimately, the martyrs lit up the night with praises to their King.
When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul: Joy in Spite of Trouble

Looking for Meaning in All the Wrong Places

With the general population indicating a warm and positive perception of Jesus, how is it possible that the U.S. is increasingly and swiftly becoming more post-Christian?
The answer appears to lie in the dichotomy between how people perceive Jesus versus how they view his followers and the institutional Church—something we’ll explore in today’s article, an excerpt from our third release in the Spiritually Open series.
