John here is speaking to believers referring to them as Children, inferring father ship not unlike Christ in John 13:33. I unlike many modern commentaries which skip this part, I find this significant for two reasons:
John is obviously advanced in his years at this point but is taking responsibility for the church and its people by calling them his own.
We are all (that is True born again converts) Children of God, and as such must fight for others to come to Christ in that same manner.
After 14 days and 11 hours 55 minutes on the road the above picture tells the story of our on road adventures. My grandson Teshaun (Valve Stem) and I arrived home just before midnight on Wednesday and I spent most of yesterday sorting mail and paying bills.
I must tell you this was NOT FUN! It was at times grueling and I was in the comfort if a truck with A/C. The men of Mission M25 Ministries who did the actual motorcycle part are rewarded of sorts with a certificate (if they keep careful logs and receipts) from the 50cc Iron Butt Association Cert. I again have to acknowledge what an outstanding group of men to travel across the country with.
We had a record year in many ways as the check above shows. Many have asked can one organization use 400,000 plus diapers and wipes, the answer is no, so we partner with others. This year we are proud to send a record number to the Native American tribes in New Mexico and Montana, support an organization combating sex slavery in North Carolina and veterans outreach (we had Depends donated) in CA.
We also know that this is not about Diaper and/or Wipes it is about lives. The bible says we (all mankind) were and are created in the image of God. Ponder that for a moment and realize that we are not just destroying a “fetus” but murdering the very image of God.

Today’s BreakPoint: How Abortion Poisoned Our Politics (and Everything Else)
The Drama Over Replacing Justice Ginsburg
President Trump has promised that his nomination to replace the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be announced on Saturday. And, now that Senator Mitt Romney has committed to support the process, it looks probable, perhaps likely, that Mitch McConnell could succeed in seating a new justice before the November election. Democrats will, of course, fight against this with, to quote Nancy Pelosi, “every arrow in their quiver.”
The death of Justice Ginsburg raises an incredible number of questions on a ton of issues, from the rules and norms of Supreme Court nominations, to the legacy of this historic member of the Court, to just how a Justice becomes a pop-culture icon to the future of Roe v. Wade. Earlier this week, Kim Colby, director of the Center of Law and Religious Freedom for the Christian Legal Society, joined me on a special edition of the BreakPoint Podcast to talk through each of those questions. (Click on the link below to listen or subscribe to the BreakPoint podcast wherever you get your podcasts.)
Most bibles today have some form of headings. In the AMP version of our text it saysUnbelief and Its Consequences. I think most translations have something similar.
While this section clearly is a warning to unbelieversit is also a WAKE UP CALL to the complacent church. For far to long the church has sat back and let the world dictate what would happen, we would loose school prayer, make murder (abortions) and LGBTQ normal, and denounce God from national platforms just to name a few. The church grumbles and mumbles but has for the most part remained silent.
This morning I thought I would do something different and offer you a sermon from Pastor John MacArthur, whom you may knows church is in a battle with the state of CA over the constitutional right to assemble. I firmly believe this and much of what we see in America is because of our Churches Silenced Conscience.
Today’s BreakPoint: Disney’s Mulan and the Backdrop of Genocide
JOHN STONESTREET WITH DAVID CARLSON
Disney’s newest live-action movie, “Mulan,” was released Friday. So far, reviews have ranged from mostly positive to absolutely glowing: “an exciting, well-crafted action movie,” a “robust” and “family-friendly, live-action Disney fantasy,” and an “epic-scale tribute to female empowerment.”
However, the feedback on Mulan has chilled considerably after reports that Disney filmed substantial portions of the movie in China’s Xinjiang province, with the blessing and cooperation of the Chinese Communist government.
Xinjiang is the home province of some 12 million Muslim Uighurs. According to the U. S. State Department, over one million of them have been moved to concentration camps where “they are starved, abused, tortured, electrocuted, raped and even killed.” Uighur women have been “forcibly sterilized . . . [and] made to use intrusive birth control methods.” There have even been reports of forced abortions and even infanticide.
At each of our respective ministries, we’ve been receiving constant reports about parents strained and stressed over providing the best educational experience for their children. In God’s providence, disruption is presenting opportunities to deepen every student’s connection to a vibrant and Christ-centered education. This new normal is a reset for millions of parents.
To help you as a pastor meet the needs of your families in your congregation and answer this call, we’re cooperating withBJU Press – the largest producer of Biblical Worldview K-12 Christian textbooks, Dr. George Barna, our friends at Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) and others to provide 3, 1-hour, virtual sessions to help you as a pastor understand how BJU Press can help you to immediately provide Christian instruction in your church location and can connect families to the best help for homeschool or hybrid (home and school) or church location experiences.
George Barna, perhaps the most respected and best known Christian public opinion researcher in America, will kick off this 3 day, 3 hour conference with both the need of the culture and the current opportunity of pastors to meet our needs in the context of an exclusive snapshot of this educational moment in our national life.
We’re making this event FREE of charge to you and a member of your leadership team so please mark your calendar!
Thank you for allowing us to serve you and your church families in this way.
As always; these are opinion and news pieces mainly from a conservative constitutionalist view and do not necessarily reflect the beliefs, doctrine and views of this ministry or any individual associated with it. They are provided for and intended for individuals to be able to read and form their own opinions and views on issues at hand. (Sad that we even have to explain this!)
Today in America we celebration Labor Day. First celebrated in 1882 and continually since 1894, it is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers.
After 8 years of near record high unemployment the nations laborers had much to celebrate in Jan 2020 when for the a full quarter unemployment hovered at 3.5% the lowest in decades. Then COVID-19 and everything changed overnight.
If you watch any political news on either side of the isle all they seem to want to do is play the “Blame Game“. While I believe it is important to point out the differences in POLICY between your positions and your opponents today that does not seem to matter only who has a better more likable personality.
So today 07 September 2020, as we celebrate the 126th Labor Day, let us put aside the Blame Game and concentrate on what really matters Laboring Together to Build A Better America. Is that not what the Founding Founder’s wanted.
(A Song of degrees for Solomon.)
Except the LORD build the house, – Whatever you are building a family, a house, a nation the LORD is the essential ingredient our founding fathers (despite the naysayers) understood this.
they labour in vain that build it: – there have been many “great men” in the world who have taken nothing with them to an eternity of self condemnation in hell.
Further we can choose to Righteously Labor with God or Not. We have all seen the chaos and depravity running amok on many of our cities streets. Is that the building up of America we want to leave for the future?
Jonah was wrapped up in personal sin and running from God. His escape of course was useless whom are we to think that we can run from the all-knowing, all-powerful and ever-present God of all creation? In our text Jonah’s sin has begun to effect others but he is refusing to do anything about it.
This sermon addresses both saints and sinners who have personal transgression against God but are just almost causally moving through life. I would also say it can be applies in another manner.
With all the turmoil going on in America, with all the anti-Christian propaganda, anti-biblical rhetoric being spewed, one would think “TRUE CHRISTIANS” (170 million, 54% of the population claim to be) voices would be heard resonating loudly. Yet all but a few are silent, so my question for you today is simple: What Meanest Thou, O Sleeper?
I grew up in and served America in a time when we were taught respect for everyone. My mother was a Public school teacher and counselor, and taught us to be color blind;and although we were not particularly religious, it is also what Jesus taught Matthew 22:39.
Unfortunately, that is no longer the America some intellectual elitistand others would have us live in. The following article lays out very clearly the path of destruction America is headed for. The question is what are we to do about it? – Mike
If much of the dire rhetoric behind America’s moment of racial reckoning seems from an oppressive world of a half-century ago, that’s because it comes from “critical race theory,” a decades-old philosophy deeply skeptical about the possibility of racial progress.
It turns up in the best-selling book, “White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism,” in which readers are told that “white identity is inherently racist” and that “the white collective fundamentally hates blackness.”
In Durham, N.C., a racial task force last month issued a 68-page report to city leaders stating that all social structures were designed to subjugate blacks, to privilege “the health of white bodies” and “to indoctrinate all students with the internalized belief that the white race is superior.”…
