We at FSM and FSMWO believe the best citizens are informed citizens. With the 2024 Presidential election nearing, the following articles are provided with that goal in mind. The Christian VOTE is critical to the future of this nation.

The coming election may be the most important we’ve ever seen. A progressive agenda is trying to destroy the core values that have guided our nation for centuries—and what’s decided in November will affect our families for generations to come.
With so much at stake, we simply cannot afford to sit on the sidelines. We must act with our prayers, our voices, and our votes to protect our families and uphold our right to develop and train our children.

.

Focus on the Family is calling for all our friends to make sure you’re registered to vote this election season! On November 5, citizens will have the opportunity to elect the 47th president of the United States, 34 U.S. Senators, and 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, in addition to other state and local officials. Additionally, voters in 10 states are being asked to codify a right to abortion in their state constitution. These radical and extreme measures are on the ballot in Florida, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, Missouri, Montana, South Dakota, New York and Maryland. Other important measures may be on the ballot in your state. As Christians, we have the privilege and duty to participate in the exercise of self-government. The first and most important step in this responsibility is to register and vote in every election. An estimated 25 million Christians who are registered to vote do not vote in presidential elections. And an additional 15 million Christians are not even registered to vote. If committed Christians get active in national and local elections, we can change the course of our nation. Dr. Al Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, has spoken frequently about the necessity of Christians getting involved in politics. “God’s given you the stewardship of the vote and if you don’t use it, you’re just strengthening every vote against what you would say you stand for,” Mohler says, adding: “If conservatives and Christians vote, that makes a massive difference. Elections aren’t every day, but election days are important days. ”Likewise, Christian theologian Wayne Grudem, professor of theology and biblical studies at Phoenix Seminary, says, “Every Christian citizen who lives in a democracy has at the very least a minimal obligation to be well-informed and to vote for candidates and policies that are most consistent with biblical principles. ”Thomas Jefferson is often quoted as saying, “We in America do not have government by the majority. We have a government by the majority who participate. ”Focus on the Family encourages you to make sure your voter registration is up to date and to vote your values this November. If you are not registered to vote, we encourage you to register now. Early mail-in voting has already begun in many states. You can learn more about early voting in your state. Remember, election day is November 5. If you live in one of the 10 states with abortion amendments on the ballot, you can learn more about them here. Finally, we encourage you to vote on or before November 5 for candidates who share Christian values like the sanctity of human life, parental rights, freedom of religion and speech, and protecting children. Thank you for your help, Focus on the Family.
