This post is from a friend who writes quite often about current political and Christian topics. In reading this article my comment was: Tom, I know of NO fellow believers who think of “Christian Nationalism” as more about identity than religion. It carries with it assumptions about nativism, white supremacy, authoritarianism, patriarchy, and militarism.”1 Maybe I am speaking for my circle of acquaintances. Still, I would hold that we would consider, “Christian Nationalism” the hope for and working towards America’s return to its founding Judeo-Christian principles. At no time was or should America be a Theocracy, or any of the other terms used above.
As for “Christian Patriotism”, those who try to twist words to make it an evil subset of “Christian Nationalism” are nothing short of LIARS. All true Americans are or should be patriots, and yes it is biblical.23

Thank you for the reblog.
Note that your second link is not usable.
Nationalism has earned a bad name because extremist states tend to emphasize nationalism in order to stir up the people of their nation in a bait and switch. What starts with love of country and putting our people first soon becomes an expression of the ideology preferred by those in power. Soon the leadership equates rejection of their ideology with hatred and betrayal of the nation.
