I received the following email today and thought I would pass it on. With all the rumors and blaming (see yesterdays devotional) going on the truth of where the President got his recommendations from is important:

Update: National Coronavirus Recovery Commission

Michael,

I hope you and yours are healthy and safe as we work through this unprecedented crisis. I know the measures we’ve been forced to take to combat this pandemic have been burdensome to all of us in some way, especially for those whose jobs and businesses face uncertainty or loss.

With that in mind, I’d like to share an update from the National Coronavirus Recovery Commission that I believe will lift your spirits and provide an extra measure of hope in these uncertain times.

On Monday, the commission released 47 specific recommendations, which you can read here, covering the first two phases of our previously announced five-phase approach to recovery. The first phase is a plan to help each region of our nation return to a normal level of business. The second lays out a step-by-step strategy to slow the spread of the coronavirus while expanding testing, reporting, and contact tracing.

The good news is that Washington is listening! One of our proposals was for significant regulatory relief, especially for small businesses, to help speed the recovery. The White House announced this week that it is pursuing this very course. They are also considering our recommendation concerning new rules for the Department of Health and Human Services, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Food and Drug Administration that would encourage medical innovation and give people easier access to health care.

I encourage you to visit the commission’s website at  coronaviruscommission.com, where you can find the latest updates about our plan and our efforts to save lives and livelihoods across America. This commission is creating recommendations for all of America, not just Washington. If you have any ideas, questions, or concerns, I encourage you to submit them by clicking here. We want to hear your opinion!

Thank you for your support, which has made this commission possible. The health of our families and the fate of a free, prosperous economy go hand in hand. Working together, across all levels of government and civil society, I know we can protect both.

All the best,

Kay C. James
President
