Seven Steps to Combatting “Critical Theory” in the Classroom

The Heritage Foundation is committed to combating toxic ideology that goes against the founding principles of our nation. CRT or Critical Race Theory is one such Idology. Here are the opening remarks/quote from the pamphlet: (It should scare every parent especially those in Illinois)

The Illinois State Board of Education is now insisting that there is “not one ‘correct’ way of doing or understanding something” and “what is seen as ‘correct’ is most often based on our lived experiences.”1 Statewide, black and Hispanic students score 28 points and 20 points, respectively, below their white peers on a standard fourth-grade reading comparison, so giving up on teaching correct answers is a strange way of encouraging student success.2

In December 2020, the Illinois State Board of Education adopted new “Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards” that are focused on identity politics, teaching students to find bias around them, and instructing students on how to resist the “systems of oppression” in which they allegedly live.3 Teachers are to recognize how their own “identity (race/ethnicity, national origin, language, sex and gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical/developmental/emotional ability, socioeconomic class, religion, etc.) affects their perspectives and beliefs about pedagogy and students.”

I hope you can see the issues here:

  1. No more standards, “not one ‘correct: so if Johnny can’t do the work or is too lazy his way is okay too?
  2. teaching students to find bias around them: Instead of encouraging them to get along and love their neighbors, let us teach them to be suspicious of them. Sure sounds a lot like marxist propaganda to me.
  3. Instructing students on how to resist the “systems of oppression” in which they allegedly live. – Of course they are oppressed, they are all slaves of the great system from birth designed to keep them down and never give them chance at the American Dream. That is only for the masses of folks heading to pour boarders daily?
  4. recognize how their own “identity: note that nowhere in this is as Americans mentions. God forbid we raise up a generation of Patriots.

Build Back Better Is Largest Welfare Increase in US History

What Biden’s building: If the so-called Build Back Better Act would build anything, it would be the most bloated welfare system the United States has ever had.

Devil’s in the details: It doesn’t just sharply increase welfare payments, it strips work requirements, hikes marriage penalties, and includes payoffs to teachers’ unions and other special interests.

The real cost: Far from helping families out of poverty, this would trap them in costly and harmful government dependence.

Lawsuit Targets Massachusetts Public School System for Racial Segregation, Censoring Students

A Massachusetts public school system is actively promoting racially segregated student groups and a “bias reporting program” that encourages students to report instances of their peers’ biases to school officials for disciplinary action, a lawsuit filed Tuesday alleges…

This is just one example of the problems with “Cancel Culture”, “Critical Race Theory (CRT)” and “Wokeism” being pushed by the left in America. Does the U.S. have a PAST history of racism, undeniably, but so does EVERY other nation on the earth. Do we still have issues that can be improved upon, absolutely but not by decisiveness. The following is from The Mississippi Center for Public Policy and explains the dangers of CRT.

The Ideology Behind Biden’s Disastrous First Nine Months

Sheer chaos and anarchy on the border? Afghanistan—the most humiliating defeat in recent U.S. military history? A labor-starved supply chain in shambles and holiday shelves emptying out? The worst inflation in 30 years that seems soon ready to match Carter-era levels? Gas hitting $5 a gallon with winter heating fuels soaring? Free-for-all looting in the major cities without consequences? Joe Biden’s policies and Biden himself diving in the polls?[…]

Citizen’s Guide: Biden’s Justice Department Targeting You

I was hesitant to post this until I watched part of the US Attorney General lie in his testimony before congress yesterday. When asked by Republicans question like did he issue orders that made parents out to be “domestic terrorists” he repeatedly said no. Yet his memo (see below) clearly implies otherwise.

Earlier this month, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a memo calling on the FBI to address “violent threats against school officials and teachers.” Garland’s instructions came after a summer of hot national debate in which concerned parents clashed with public school officials at local school board meetings over critical race theory, transgender policies, and classroom mask mandates.

Not only is Garland’s threat an intimidation tactic, but it also serves as a “head nod” from Biden’s radical administration to well-connected “education companies” who promote “culturally responsive training”—including Panorama Education, a company co-founded by Garland’s son-in-law.

Garland’s memo was released with no actual evidence of crimes committed, only making references to a “rise in criminal conduct.” This politicization of the U.S. Justice Department and seeming conflict of interest must be addressed and called out. We must continue to stand with parents and encourage their involvement in public schools and their children’s education. Your voice and values can make a difference!

Election Integrity

Whether you believe the election was rigged every patriot should demand election integrity. Here seems to be another example of election day failure.

New Chief Chaplain at Harvard an Atheist

Definition of chaplain : 1: a clergyman in charge of a chapel 2: a clergyman officially attached to a branch of the military, to an institution, or to a family or court 3: a person chosen to conduct religious exercises (as at a meeting of a club or society) 4: a clergyman appointed to assist a bishop (as at a liturgical function)

Seems to me that someone who claims there is no God, fails to meet any of those criteria. Not blaming them, but the institution, Harvard, which founded in 1636 in anticipation of the need for training clergy (Christian) for the new commonwealth, has forgotten its roots.

Harvard University has selected a man who does not believe in God to be the school’s chief chaplain.

Chief Chaplain Greg Epstein is the author of “Good Without God: What a Billion Nonreligious People Do Believe.” He also serves as Harvard’s humanist chaplain, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s humanist chaplain, and as convener for ethical life at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Office of Religious, Spiritual, and Ethical Life…
