  • First, it is the Triune God who decided to make, or better put “create” from nothing, man.
  • Secondly, the same Triune God decided to create man in their own “image” and “likeness.” Note the usage of the two words with similar meanings, emphasizing the task to be accomplished. The only explanation for these words since mankind does not have the power (omnipotent) or mental (omnipotent) or ability to be ever-present (omnipresent) of God, is the image of God refers to the moral character of our soul.
  • The third thing, in v.26 we see God created man to have dominion that is to rule, as God’s representative over all the earth. This is no small responsibility, man (Adam) was to act in God’s place tending to the affairs of the Graden and all that was in it.
  • Finally, in v.27, we see God created man and women, male and female both in Their own image.
