What is “Christian Patriotism?” Does it mean being loyal to the Bible and God alone?
If we listen to many on the left and their insistence that “separation of church and state” is a Constitutional fact (it is not of course) then the answer would be yes. The Bible however is clear and should be our governing authority. Romans 13:1-7, Titus 3:1-3, 1 Peter 2:13-17 all have Biblical mandates for being obedient to those whom God has appointed over us.
However, equally important the Bible says we should never obey man when his (man) mandates conflict with Biblical (God’s) law (Luke 20:25, Acts 5:29). The Bible makes no provision for believers to be silent in the political arena, just the opposite. It does however require that all our acts, in word or deed, be done in a manner that Glorifies God.
