Psalm 59 Sometimes, like in the case of David here, forces align against us and we seemingly have no place to turn. David wisely cries out to God from the beginning, Deliver me from my enemies, O my God. This accomplishes two things: It established the fact that David was in need of help It … More Devotional Thought for Today – 02/04/2021
Sins of Omission JAMES 4 First a little context. This chapter overall is about the differences between worldly and Godly wisdom. James asks the question are you focusing on your own success without acknowledging your need for God. Seemingly out of nowhere comes our main text. James makes this challenging statement. Sinning is part of … More Devotional Thought for Today – 02/03/2021
Deuteronomy 6 I have had some argue that these verses do not apply to “New Testament” Christians, how foolish and wrong can one be? Jesus himself in Matthew 5:17-20 says Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil… While we can … More Devotional Thought for Today – 02/02/2021
Romans 6:15-23 Even mentioning the word “slave” or “slavery” in America today can get you branded as a racist or white supremacist. Yet the Bible makes it VERY clear if you are a “TRUE CHRISTAIN” you are a slave to God. Acts 5:17-32 If you read through the book of Acts, the text v.17-32 is a good example you can not help but notice the Apostles were criminals. John 4:7-30 This is a pretty familiar passage of scripture. Jesus comes to a well and there is a Samaritan woman there and He asks her to draw water for Him to drink. Revelation 3:7-13 I will not attempt to get into a LONG discussion as to why this is NOT about an escape plan (rapture) Standard for Churchesfor Christians. Suffice it to say most modern renderings and interpretations do not do the original Greek or context justice (See Below). What is important is the fact that the … More Devotional Thought for Today – 01/28/2021
I have written about HUMILITY a lot over the years (you can search in the box to the right). I guess I just need a constant reminder. JAMES 4 Chapter 3 saw James reminding his readers that the world was no place to gain wisdom and knowledge. Have you ever noticed that whenever you get … More Devotional Thought for Today – 01/27/2021
Romans 7:14-25 Some of your bibles may have a heading for this section of scripture that says something like; dealing with sin, conflicting natures, or something similar. It is clear from the context that Paul is saying the LAW of God was created for those who are Spiritual people but I in my human flesh … More Devotional Thought for Today – 01/26/2021
Philippians 4:1-8 Thinking Marvelously Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, makes a simple plea; think, focus on, the blessings of life. In today’s world, it is so easy for everyone, “Christians” included to get caught up in the day to day bitterness, evil, and sadness around us. We have a choice go with … More Devotional Thought for Today – 01/25/2021
