As this article points out, praying for Russia’s defeat is fine, even praying those tough Psalms that invoke God’s wrath. But it is not the end-all.
Right in the middle of the Bible are passages that many find uncomfortable. The imprecatory psalms are among the hymns that were sung by the people of God, but which violate current cultural conceptions of Christian “niceness” or a gentle Jesus. These are not the psalms of praise and thanksgiving to God for His goodness and mercy, but rather psalms that call for God’s mercy to be withheld, and His wrath to be unleashed against our enemies…
