Isaiah 1:18-20 AMP and RVR 1960
The book of Isaiah recounts Israel’s ongoing rebellion against God. Despite this God continues to offer them forgiveness and redemption.
Isaiah recounts an ongoing call to repentance, to turn from their evil ways and do what is right before God. Chapter One begins v.1-9 describing that rebellion. Then in v.10-17 we read of God who has had enough of a stiff necked people.
Finally in our text God through Isaiah makes a most interesting statement; “Come now, and let us reason together,” He is proclaiming that among all the wayward people their is a remnant, a small group who could still reason out right and wrong when it came to obeying God.
I chose this as today’s sermon first because it was one of my devotional verses for today, but also because I pray there is a remnant here in America. A small group that is committed to the Judaeo-Christian principles upon which this nation was founded. That is fed up with the unbiblical socialist rhetoric being shouted by a pretentious and spurning minority. That will stand up to be counted and say, “Come now, and let us reason together,” to Make America Godly Again.
