A couple of people have pointed out that I often seem to criticize the evangelical church. My objective is not to condemn but to draw attention to my personal observations.
Just as I am convinced “the church” overall in the USA is not healthy. Far too many have numbers inflated by “members” who are what I term one-and-done. They came the walk, they dunked, and they were done.
I am equally convinced God is in complete control. We see significant numbers of folks in Asian, Africa, and other parts of the world, often in secret, making true confessions of faith that sometimes cost them everything.
Isa 46:9–10 (AMP) [Earnestly] remember the former things, [which I did] of old; for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose,
Prov 19:21 Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.
What can we do? PRAY, PRAY, and PRAY some more. I must admit that this is difficult for me right now, but with a heaping helping of the Holy Spirit, Christ our advocate hears my garbled cries.
