I am going out on a limb so to speak albeit not too far, by suggesting the main reason most folks celebrate St. Patrick’s Day is for Irish Whiskey and Beer. If you asked the average American who this person was, that this holiday is named after the answers we would get would likely leave us in hysterics.
The Bible says that all true believers of God are “Saints” so biblically speaking the Roman Catholic practice of lifting folks up to a level of “sainthood” is a form of idolatry and unbiblical. Putting that aside the man himself Patrick late of Ireland seems to have been a very Godly man. The above quote would attest to that.
