Today I want to begin by comparing two verses of scripture the one from the Old Covenant and one from the New:
What we have here is a clear case of the Bible contradicting itself therefore it must be a lie and it can not be trusted. Of course, all the naysayers would claim that, taking one verse of scripture Romans 3:11, out of context and making a case for no faith out of it. This link here, should give you the idea that the bible speaks much more about seeking after God than it does about not (also see Psalm 14:2-3, Isaiah 53:1-3)
The question we need to ask is twofold, who are these seekers after all in recent years there has been a movement toward “seeker-sensitive churches“, and in what context are they seeking or being denied the opportunity to seek after God.
Let us look at Isaiah 55:5-7 (AMP) first
“In fact, you [c][Israel] will call a nation that you do not know, And a nation that does not know you will run to you, Because of the Lord your God, even the Holy One of Israel; For He has glorified you.” 6 Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call on Him [for salvation] while He is near. 7 Let the wicked leave behind) his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion (mercy) on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
Note that this is addressed to the children of Israel God’s chosen, those whom he has called to be His. Their long history of rebellion is being called to task. Isaiah, the servant of God is calling them to repentance and to seek the God of their fathers.
Now let us look at Romans 3:10-12
As it is written and forever remains written, “There is none righteous [none that meets God’s standard], not even one. 11 “There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God.
12 “All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, no, not one.”
There are some fundamental Biblical truths being set forth here by the Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit:
- No one is righteous ( All mankind is sinful) – Romans 3:23
- No unrighteous person can not understand the things of God – Ephesians 4:18
- No unrighteous person of their own accord will seek God they must be called – John 6:44
It is theologically irresponsible to try and make a case for Biblical Error using these two verses. As always CONTEXT is everything. A complete study of the Whole Counsel of God and these texts show they are in agreement, the unrighteous, those not called by God do not seek Him. Only those called by God seek Him and are those whom God sends servants (Pastors, teachers, missions, etc.) to share the Word and bring them back to fellowship.
One of the things that many don’t understand is that we set up churches for those who have been called, not for those who have not. John 6:44 makes it quite clear that we have our limits. With the aid of God, we cannot spread the Gospel.

Greetings Tom, I think you meant at the end “Without the aid of God, we can not spread the Gospel.”?
