TITUS 2:11-14
For the [remarkable, undeserved] grace of God that [a]brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives [lives with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity] in this present age, 13 awaiting and confidently expecting the [fulfillment of our] blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who [willingly] gave Himself [to be crucified] on our behalf to redeem us and purchase our freedom from all wickedness, and to purify for Himself a chosen and very special people to be His own possession, who are enthusiastic for doing what is good.
Everyone has there “ideal” Christmas pictured in their mind. Yet most folks celebrating Christmas this year are doing so without the real meaning of Christmas in their thoughts never mind their hearts.
True Christmas is the celebration of God made Flesh in order to redeem mankind. It is not about some baby in a manger (yes that is a part of the story) it is about His deity. It is the story of a Fathers Love John 3:16-17 for His rebellious children Romans 5:8 who deserve death Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23 and instead get life.
Life eternal is available to all those that respond to God’s redemption call Matthew 22:14, but we know that very few will respond. Oh they have the best excuses (in their own minds but as our main text says For the [remarkable, undeserved] grace of God that [a]brings salvation has appeared to all men and we must not forget Romans 1:19-21 mans excuses hold no validity with God.
Only the redeemed, the chosen children of God Ephesians 1:3-4, 1 Peter 2:9 can fully appreciate the True meaning of Christmas. For everyone else its just another excuse to party, spend money, eat excessively or otherwise be blinded to the truth 2 Corinthians 4:3-4.
