I have no intention in this study and sermons to investigate whether Matthew 6:9-13 should be called the Lord’s Prayer or something else. Suffice it to say, I do not feel this is worth falling upon our swords, nor do I feel its use fails to glorify God. By this, are we using v.9 as an example, honoring God, Praising God, and holding His name Holy above all others? How can we be wrong?
In my devotional readings this morning, I came across The God We Love to Fear, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. [Matt. 6:9]1 It reminded me that those outside of God’s Grace genuinely have something to fear, and those surrounded by His Grace and Mercy need to daily thank Him and pray for those standing on the outside looking in.
