I was tempted this morning to include one of the late Charlie Kirk’s masterful rebuttals here, in response to someone challenging him about the U.S. being founded by atheists. I figure y’all can look it up on YouTube, and the relief above is proof enough for today.
One of the key ingredients in Charlie’s arguments was that God is sovereign and His promises can be counted on. I have said it many times here: why would anyone follow a God that was NOT all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present? If our “god” doesn’t possess those attributes, He is not God; he is just a man whom we have lifted up. I have no need to follow another sinful man like me.
Likewise, if God DOES have those attributes, then He is also a Promise Keeper, for He can not lie. God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? – Numbers 23:19
The most tremendous promise of all is not about us but about God Himself, when He declares (promises) to be Holy. I can not speak for you, but my desire is to worship a God who is worthy of “And they were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory!’” – Isaiah 6:3

I must plead the promises of God for the enforcing of all my petitions, put these promises in suit, and refer myself to them.
