Devotional Thought for Today – 11/14/2022

Romans 7:19

Today’s devotional is different in that we have looked at the text Romans 7:19 before. It speaks about the struggle (Paul’s personal) between the desire to do righteous acts and the still natural calling to do sinful evil things.

In one of my daily devotionals that I read the following came across my screen today.

Free from Sin

“Knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin” (Romans 6:6-7)

Having died with Christ, believers are no longer under sin’s control.

So the question for today is simply this, is the Word of God contradicting itself? How can we be “Free of Sin” yet still “Struggle With Sin”? Remember CONTEXT is everything when reading scripture. Be a Berean and share your comments.
