“If ever there was need for re-affirming and teaching the true doctrine of the Trinity, it is now.”

Cornelius Van Til

The Trinity, our God in three persons (as shown above) is one of the most difficult things to comprehend in all Theology. Yet it should be the most fundamental of Bible teachings to our children and all new converts. I say this with reason, consider how the bible starts:

In the beginning God created* the heaven and the earth. We know the Hebrew Word used for God here is ‘elohiym. A plural for of God, ruler etc.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Here again is a Hebrew word Ruwach that is used primarily (232 times) to mean Spirit

KJV

My point should be apparent if the first two verses of the Holy Bible describe a triune God, do you think it is essential to learn about, teach about and be able to defend?

Yet much confusion abounds today within “Evangelical” churches some placing too much emphasis or too little on one deity of the Holy Trinity or another. We must remember:

  • Each is a person
  • Each is God
  • There is a hierarchy within scripture even though they are equally God
  • They have different duties/tasks
  • The Gospel demands a Triune God

Here are some resources I used that are available for further study on the subject of the Holy Trinity:
