Can a Christian lose salvation?

The Short answer to this question is NO! A true Christian can not lose their salvation. That would mean that Christ’s sacrifice at Calvary was not sufficient enough to cover all sins and we would need to crucify Him again to be saved again?

The issue is was a person ever really a “true Christian.” The answer as the article points out is no, true believers are those who make Christ Lord and Savior. Those who appear to have lost their salvation ultimately never had Christ in change.

Answer: First, the term Christian must be defined. A “Christian” is not a person who has said a prayer or walked down an aisle or been raised in a Christian family. While each of these things can be a part of the Christian experience, they are not what makes a Christian. A Christian is a person who has fully trusted in Jesus Christ as the only Savior and therefore possesses the Holy Spirit (John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8–9).
