Two law professors’ amicus brilliantly explains why Roe must go

We pick up today where we left off last week in our series of overviews of important amicus briefs filed in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization which the Supreme Court will hear this fall. We began this series on July 22, and it continues to be well received.

The justices will hear the state of Mississippi defend its ban on abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy with very limited exceptions.  The law was blocked by Judge Carlton W. Reeves of the Federal District Court in Jackson, Mississippi in 2018…

SOURCE: Two law professors’ amicus brilliantly explains why Roe must go

“The Protection of Unborn Children Act”, Arkansas Act 309, (formerly SB6 when it was signed on March 9) bans all abortion except to save the life of the mother in a medical emergency. Little Rock Family Planning Services and Planned Parenthood of Oklahoma and Northeastern Arkansas have filed a Motion for a Preliminary Injunction to stop the law from going into effect on July 28th, its scheduled effective date.

In one of the most stunning legal documents I have seen in over 40 years of law practice, the State of Arkansas is challenging the abortion industry and claiming that their actions are outrageous and A Crime Against Humanity.  Click here to read the States Response. Please note right near the beginning The Moral Outcry Petition in its entirety is specifically presented to the Court as the Legislative Findings of the Arkansas Legislature.

Arkansas is even claiming that the Supreme Court’s Roe v. WadeDoe v. Bolton, and Planned Parenthood v. Casey decisions are unfounded in the Constitution and should be reversed. This is the beginning of the legal battle, which may last up to three years, to get all the way to the United States Supreme Court. A final victory would allow every state in the nation to ban abortion. This is a far-reaching and deeply significant beginning. And you are part of The Battle.

Would you please pray?

Pray for the judge and pray for those defending Life and this law, including The Justice Foundation who is representing Concepts of Truth, an Arkansas Pregnancy Resource Center, and Dr. George Conner, a family practice Doctor, who have filed a Motion to Intervene in the lawsuit to present additional evidence and argument in support of the Act, but different and beneficial to the state. You may click here to read Concepts of Truth’s Motion to Intervene, represented by The Justice Foundation, to support The Moral Outcry Petition movement and this law.

Please note we are asserting an interest which is different from the state of Arkansas’s and which cannot be adequately represented by the Attorney General. We presented the testimony of numerous Arkansas women who had been deeply hurt by abortion. This is one-way Operation Outcry amplifies The Moral Outcry to End Abortion!

We are arguing the law must be allowed to go into effect or there will be an irreparable injury to the children who will be killed and irreparable injury to the women who will be deeply injured and devastated. On the other hand, there will be no irreparable injury to women seeking abortions who don’t get them because Arkansas is willing to take every child through its Safe Haven law and provide free medical care and delivery care for low-income women. These are all Moral Outcry arguments that now must be proven in Court.

Finally, if our clients are allowed to intervene, they will also be arguing that if the law does not go into effect it will disproportionately kill Black Arkansans. But if the law banning abortion is allowed to go into effect, it will protect the Black population of Arkansas from disproportionately being killed. African Americans represent 15% of the Arkansas population, but 46% of the abortions in Arkansas. Planned Parenthood has said this law is racist. What do you think?

The Courtroom Drama over Roe

SO depending on who you listen to you may be convinced that if President Trump gets his way and Amy Coney Barrett is put on the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), Roe v. Wade will immediately be overturned and Abortion will become illegal.  In fact 56% of Americans surveyed, believe this to be a fact, So they think Joe Biden is their only Hope.

It is actually a lie perpetrated by the left…

Today’s BreakPoint: How Abortion Poisoned Our Politics (and Everything Else)

The Drama Over Replacing Justice Ginsburg

President Trump has promised that his nomination to replace the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be announced on Saturday. And, now that Senator Mitt Romney has committed to support the process, it looks probable, perhaps likely, that Mitch McConnell could succeed in seating a new justice before the November election. Democrats will, of course, fight against this with, to quote Nancy Pelosi, “every arrow in their quiver.”

The death of Justice Ginsburg raises an incredible number of questions on a ton of issues, from the rules and norms of Supreme Court nominations, to the legacy of this historic member of the Court, to just how a Justice becomes a pop-culture icon to the future of Roe v. Wade. Earlier this week, Kim Colby, director of the Center of Law and Religious Freedom for the Christian Legal Society, joined me on a special edition of the BreakPoint Podcast to talk through each of those questions. Examining the “10 needs we must understand and live after choosing to serve the Lord” Part 6

Joshua 24:15 - ESV - Bible verse of the day -

One of my posts on 28 April, was entitled COVID-19 Is a Slow-Motion 9/11 in it Pastor Sam Rohrer of the American Pastors Network set forth 10 definitive needs every “Christian” must understand and live by after choosing to serve the Lord. I thought I would look at each one individually over the next two weeks.

{Note because of my deployments and the urge to write a typical devotional this is taking an extending time to complete 🙂 }

Understand that national blessing or national judgment hinges on the actions of the remnant.

(“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”—2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV)
 2 Chronicles 7:14 (AMP and RVR 1960)

I am not always well received in conservative Christian circles for this statement; “We are not a Christian Nation.” The God of the Holy Bible is not the Supreme ruling authority of this land we call the United State of America, that would make us a Theocracy much like Iran. I can assure you (do the research yourself) that was never the intent of the founding fathers.

I do continue to boldly argue that we were founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Not because the founding fathers were all perfect “Christians” which in any day and age would be laughable, but because they understood the need for high moral and ethical standards that man alone could not establish.

Why am I restating all this? Because I believe the Remnant spoke of is under National Judgement, along with this sinful nation. We have turned our backs on our Holy God. Not so you say, really how about:

The issue of school prayer came about in the 1962 ruling (Engel v. Vitale ), it has been more than 50 years since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against school-led or school-sponsored prayer; and we have seen the effects in every public  institution from elementary to college.

In the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled 7-2 that the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which protects the rights to life, liberty and property, entailed a “right to privacy” that included the right for a woman to procure an abortion up until “the point at which the fetus becomes ‘viable’.” Roe v. Wade effectively overturned all existing state laws against abortion.¹ The abortion clock continues to climb with over 61,000,000 babies murdered in the US alone since this decision.

Planned Parenthood claims (from their website) they are “Today, Planned Parenthood is a trusted health care provider, an informed educator, a passionate advocate, and a global partner helping similar organizations around the world.” They are in reality a tax payer funded abortion (murder) mill. They get according to the NY Times about $60 million annually through the federal program, known as Title X

Same Sex Unions were pretty much hush hush stuff when I was a kid. It was not until the 80’s when folks started to make waves about it. This culminated with the US Supreme courts Obergefell v. Hodges decision in 2015 making union legal in all 50 states.

Explain to me how a so called majority of America that to this day claim to be Christian continue to let these things that the bible calls an abomination happen? While we may be a slipping majority down to 65% from near 90% in the 1950’s who is to blame for America’s woes? Those who are prone to do abominations or those who idly stand by and let them happen?

We have been lied to and told for far to long that this wall, a separation of church and state exists in the Constitution.  It DOES NOT, at least not as those expounding opposition mean it. Pulpits across America need to get busy preaching the Word of God, nothing more nothing less, on subjects that are controversial. The flocks need to be informed, they need to be able to make solid biblical reasoned decisions when it comes time to vote.

No I am not telling pastors, elders, etc. to tell their congregants who to vote for or even specifically how to get involved, other than what the bible prescribes:

humble themselves, bow down to the Holy one

and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) Pray, pray, pray and pray some more,

My face seek His guidance in how you should proceed with voting and getting involved locally

and turn from their wicked ways, Our lethargic and complacent ways of not getting involved in the political landscape that has led our nation down this wrenched path.

then I will hear [them] from heaven, God hears the prayers of a righteous man

and forgive their sin and heal their land. It is never to late for the all powerful God of all creation to heal this Nation.

The List
  1. Develop a healthy fear of God. (Have no other god before Me—Exodus 20:1-6; Obey God, serve Him and fear Him—Deuteronomy 13:4; Rehearse history and teach of God’s power so your children learn to fear God—Deuteronomy 31:13; It is whole duty of mankind—Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)
  2. Re-embrace the biblical authority of Scripture. (All Scripture is profitable for life and living—2 Timothy 3:16: Living it establishes a person’s path—Psalm 119:11)
  3. Know that the ‘Church’ is disobedient, lethargic and asleep. (Christ’s warnings to the seven churches and to Laodicea—Revelation 2-3; Revelation 3:14-22)
  4. Be aware that 70% of the pulpits in America are occupied by ‘hirelings.’ (Hirelings refuse to warn of spiritual danger and the wolvesJohn 10:12-13)
  5. Be bold to identify and call out the false prophets in the wolves among us. (Christ warned of the false prophets and wolves—Matthew 7:15, Matthew 10:16, Matthew 24:24; Jesus warned of mass deception in the last days—Matthew 24:4-5)
  6. Understand that national blessing or national judgment hinges on the actions of the remnant. (“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”—2 Chronicles 7:14)
  7. Accept the reality that persecution is coming and is normal for the believer and those still standing for truth. (All who live according to God commands will suffer persecution—2 Timothy 3:12; the enemies of truth will persecute you—Luke 21:12; John 15:20)
  8. Discover that the preparation for prayer and meeting God’s requirements for prayer is far more important than the act of praying. (God demands a broken spirit and obedience before sacrifice—Psalm 51:16-17; God demands we pray His way: No unconfessed sin—Psalm 66:18)
  9. Realize that the continuance of freedom is a result of God’s blessing, which hinges on obedience and conformity to God’s commands. (Don’t forget that all blessings came from God and if you forget and become ungrateful, God will replace blessings with bondage—Deuteronomy 8:1-20, 1:19-20; 30:1-20)
  10. Understand that the choice for president or other elected leaders, while critically important, is secondary to repentance toward God and the choice for God. (Obey, and I’ll make even your enemies to be at peace with you—Proverbs 16:7)

God Calls Us to ‘Stand in the Gap’ for Life

God Calls Churches, Pastors and People in the Pews to ‘Stand in
the Gap’ for Life

JANUARY 6, 2020

While Christians are called to protect God-given life every minute of every day, the month of January places an important, historical significance on this biblical charge. Since Jan. 22, 1973, when the landmark Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in America, upwards of 60 million babies have lost their lives.

During Sanctity of Human Life Month in January, the American Pastors Network (APN) is reminding churches, pastors and people in the pews of their responsibility to stand up for the unborn. After all, says APN President Sam Rohrer, Scripture reminds believers that a child is developed in God’s image at the point of conception.

“While politicians often debate pro-life laws based on the point of conception, Scripture reveals God’s view of life in its earliest words,” Rohrer said in this week’s Stand in the Gap Minute radio series. “Genesis 1:27 notes that God created people in His image. This includes life from the point of creation—or conception. The issue is not the timing at which life is sacred, but the fact that all human life is sacred from the moment of creation. For example, how many know that a newly developing child’s heartbeat exists at just 22 days? This is before most women even know they are pregnant. We dare not turn a blind eye to those created in God’s image. Rather, God’s Word repeatedly highlights the value of human life. We are created on purpose and for His purposes.”

Rohrer went onto say that this realization takes on a new meaning when humans are aware that God participated in every moment of their creation. The Christian foundation of the pro-life movement is based on God’s view of our lives, and Psalm 139 reveals key details.

“God ‘forms’ our inward parts,” Rohrer said. “He ‘knits’ us together in the womb. Verse 16 of this Psalm notes, ‘Your eyes saw my unformed substance.’ God’s view is exceedingly more detailed than the greatest ultrasound! Because God values our lives at such an early stage and with intricate detail, we can conclude we are to care for children in the womb with a similar attitude. The preborn child deserves our highest protection and greatest devotion.

“Therefore, God’s people must not grow weary in standing for life,” he added. “We must take a clear stand for those whose lives need our help the most. Likewise in Scripture, Proverbs 31:8 commands us to ‘Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.’ Though the original context addresses those in poverty, the principle also applies to protecting preborn children from abortion. These children cannot speak for themselves—but we can and must! When we are afraid or doubtful that our voices don’t matter, we must reconsider. Every time we speak up, we give another child a better chance to live. Yes, God is calling us to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.”

Rohrer also noted that even though upwards of 60 million American children have been murdered in the security of their mother’s womb since Roe v. Wade—or one abortion every 30 seconds—some good news has emerged. Between 2011 and 2017, the number of abortions declined by 19% in the United States.

“One important factor is the number of local volunteers serving in pregnancy care centers,” Rohrer added. “Despite little change at the federal level during this time, individuals across our nation have helped mothers facing difficult pregnancy situations. It reminds me of the woman who anointed Jesus with oil. Though others mocked her, Jesus responded, ‘She did what she could.’ When you and I ‘do what we can’ to save lives, our seemingly small actions result in tremendous impact. How we live today matters, and God’s Word indicates our action is vital.”

Rohrer concluded by pointing to Jeremiah 1, where God called the prophet with the words, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”

“God has a plan for our lives,” Rohrer said. “However, the scourge of abortion continues to destroy countless lives each year before they can impact our world. Who knows how many scientists, artists, ministers and other world leaders have disappeared through legalized murder? We dare not passively watch as our nation continues to destroy those created in His image. Indecision is a decision to allow abortion to continue. Yet we can serve together to make a difference. God’s people must lead the way in saving lives. Don’t wait. Lives are counting on it.”
