Isaiah 55 As I read this in my inbox this morning it struck me that there are two types of men described in the bible who “return to the Lord.” I will get to that more in a moment but first as always some context. Previously I have posted on Isaiah 55:8-9, in which you … More Devotional Thought for today – 04/30/2021
FYI, I have not watched a game of Pro-(US) Football since the Kaepernick incident. In fact, I have pretty much given up on all pro sports since their wokeism has taken center stage. Here is a story of one young man who seems to be above the hoopla. Most people (at least those paying attention) … More Does Trevor Lawrence Have Too Much Character to be the NFL’s #1 Pick?
I woke up this morning and MHM of Prayer below was in my inbox. It led to this devotional, this one verse, in my opinion, is sufficient evidence to refute anyone who says we do not need the Old Testament. Here the Lord Himself says those Scriptures directly point the way to Him, and that … More Devotional Thought for Today – 04/29/2021
What we often miss, as Christians today can be thought of in three broad categories: the past, the present, and the future. Or, to put it another way, what was, what is, and what is to come. Scripture says woe to those who say that good is evil and that evil is good. That’s a culture-wide feature of … More What Every Christian Needs to Know
Zephaniah 3 Some context is (as always) need here to grasp the full meaning of this verse. First is the book itself being a pronouncement of God’s judgment over the whole earth. Of course in typical Biblical fashion Judah, Israel, and the surrounding nations are used as examples. Here in Chapter three v.1-7, should be … More Devotional Thought for Today – 04/28/2021

COLOSSIANS 1:28 It has been a while so here it is, CONTEXT, Colossians 1:24–29 is a sort of summarization of Paul’s ministry work. He says he, rejoices in suffering for them, He is a minister by God’s appointment, called to preach the mystery of the Gospel to the Gentiles, warning everyone with wisdom in order … More Sunday Sermon Series – Warning Every Man
1 John 3:1–2 1 John appears to be my favorite book in the Bible. I have written, preached, and taught more out of it than any other. There is something about their simplicity of the theme, Love and Fellowship with God (and like-minded believers) that just appeals to me. Our text for today (along with … More Devotional Thought for Today – 04/24/2021
Seven years ago, Bloomberg Businessweek’s cover story told professional women, “Freeze Your Eggs, Free Your Career.” The story told of a woman in her late 30s, single and successful in her career, who spent $19,000 to have her eggs frozen. She planned to focus on a career now and keep open the possibility of marriage and kids … More A Victim of Bad Ideas Is Frozen out of Fertility

Here is an excellent devotional from Grace to You ministries that was in this morning’s inbox. Risking True Peace “Blessed are the … More Devotional Thought for Today – 04/22/2021
