Devotional Thought for Today – 09/15/2022

Galatians 6

In yesterday’s devotional, we looked at Phillippians 2:1-2 and having the mind of or better put the attitude of Christ in our daily lives. One of the things Paul clearly spoke of was Christian Joy and how that comes with fellowship with like-minded believers.

Being Joyous does not always entail a party. Galatians 5 wrapped up with a focus on what it means to be led by God’s Spirit. Galatians 6 starts with describing how Spirit-led Christians serve each other by restoring those caught be sin and bearing each other’s burdens. Only those who plant God’s Spirit in this life will harvest eternal life through faith in Christ. Paul concludes the letter by writing in big letters that circumcision does not matter, only being made a new creation by faith in Christ matters. 1

The devotional below from John MacArthur describes the act of bearing another believer’s burden, in JOYOUS fellowship.

Bearing Burdens

“Bear one another’s burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).

Those who walk by the Spirit will lovingly bear one another’s burdens.
