What My Heart Feels ~

CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann

Sometimes Lord,
I don’t know what to say
when before You I come
to entreat and to pray.

My words can’t gather,
what my heart feels
to provide to You
my pleas and appeals.

Sometimes Lord,
I can’t seem to convey
what is leaving me
with feelings of dismay.

My thoughts can’t collect,
what my mind decries
and to You my petitions
I cannot comprise.

Sometimes Lord,
all I can do is stutter
and let Your Spirit . . .
my prayer to You utter!

Romans 8:26

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth
our infirmities: for we know not
what we should pray for as we ought:
but the Spirit itself maketh intercession
for us with groanings which
cannot be uttered.
