1 Chronicles 29
CONTEXT: Chapter 29 is all about the construction of God’s temple. King David knows that, Solomon, who is still very young but the one chosen to do the construction will need a head start, so he builds up a treasure chest so to speak, v.1-5 to fund the construction. The Israelites likewise contribute v.6-9 then in v.1-12 we find David praising the Lord. The key verse being (KJV) v.11:
Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.
When one considers God’s majesty or any of His attributes I can think of no better place to begin than A.W. Pink’s the Attributes of God:
You may note that our text is found in Chapter 5 under the Supremacy of God heading, confirming the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: of God for all.
