The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the LORD.
El caballo se alista para el día de la batalla; Mas Jehová es el que da la victoria.
The horse was for centuries used as a weapon of war. Just as the soldier needed to be prepared for battle so too the horse also needed to be prepared or armored up. Solomon here is making the distinction that no mater how great the war horse under him, man’s true confidence, safety or deliverance in found only in the Lord.
Today we may not have to mount up on a trusty steed each morning and prepare for battle, but we have no less obligation to armor up. We all know that God, the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul implores us to do just that, Armor up daily in Ephesians 6:10-18. The battle may not be physical but it is not less demanding.
