These things are the new heaven and earth spoken of in by Christ in verses 1-6. Note the action expected of believers, we are to be overcomers, in a world of evil lawlessness.
I recently read an article entitled Why the Church Needs Gentle Shepherds and while I understand the premise I disagree with the conclusion. Yes we need Pastoral leadership that has understanding and empathy in the chaotic world we live in. But we desperately need Pastoral Leadership to build warriors for Christ.
We are at War and war is not; never has been never will be gentle. Stop feeding your congregations milk when they are in need of real meat.
