My son-in law and I took down the Christmas tree and all the decoration late yesterday and it reminded me of the following verse:
no mirando nosotros las cosas que se ven, sino las que no se ven; pues las cosas que se ven son temporales, pero las que no se ven son eternas. (RVR 1960)
Yes I know in CONTEXT, which I harp on all the time, this verse is speaking of Christian sufferings v.16-17. However the premise is the same, the things of this world:
- Christmas tree
- Decorations
- Presents
- Even Family and Friends
can in no way compare, for we can only enjoy them briefly, seen is temporary. But what we can not see:
- The Father
- The Son
- The Holy Spirit
- Their Grace, Love and Peace for us
that is everlasting and imperishable, unseen is eternal. Where is your heart set today, on the temporal or eternal?
