But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.

The bible tells us that until Christ (The Price of Peace Isaiah 9:6) returns there will never be peace on earth. That things will continue to grow worse ( 2 Tim 3:13; 2 Tim 4:3-4 ). So how can Paul write that one of the signs of a true believer is an outward appearance of peace? The following article from John Piper’s Desiring God Ministries provides some answers.
