The Courtroom Drama over Roe

SO depending on who you listen to you may be convinced that if President Trump gets his way and Amy Coney Barrett is put on the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), Roe v. Wade will immediately be overturned and Abortion will become illegal.  In fact 56% of Americans surveyed, believe this to be a fact, So they think Joe Biden is their only Hope.

It is actually a lie perpetrated by the left…

Over 4 in 10 American Christians say Bible is ‘ambiguous’ on abortion

Many “Christians” claim there is little need for seminaries and proper studying of the Word of God. This is the result of such foolishness; a generation that has no clue what that Word really says.  – Mike

Over four in 10 American Christians believe the Bible is “ambiguous” on abortion, according to the Cultural Research Center of Arizona Christian University.

The findings, released Tuesday, are part of the CRC’s American Worldview Inventory 2020 survey.

Conducted by CRC Director of Research George Barna, a noted evangelical pollster, the report found that 44% of respondents said they believe the Bible “is ambiguous in its teaching about abortion,” while 34% said “abortion is morally acceptable if it spares the mother from financial or emotional discomfort or hardship.”

Daily Devotional – Ways to Heaven

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death

(Proverbs 16:25)

I hear it far to often, all “religions” are the same they all lead to heaven.  Yet the bible is very clear man’s “way to heaven” is but foolishness for natural man, that is those unrepentant and unconverted by the blood of Christ can not see the kingdom of Heaven.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14

AMP and RVR 1960

In this his first letter to the church at Corinth, the Apostle Paul, here in Chapter 2  writes about his need for and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.  Paul knew that Christ had left the Holy Spirit for some very specific promises and roles (See series beginning here ) that included Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, and Strengthener.

Here it is made very clear that true believers are to rely upon the Holy Spirits’ guidance while the unbeliever can not phantom the  truths that He brings.

But the natural man – The unbelieving unconverted unregenerate man.

receiveth not – will not accept, thinks them lies,

the things of the Spirit of God:  – the teachings and wisdom of the Holy Spirit

for they are foolishness unto him: – the Holy Spirits’ wisdom is but gibberish to natural man making no sense at all to him who remains in sin

neither can he know them, – Only the born again, sanctified in the Blood of Christ can accept and understand things of God

because they are spiritually discerned. – A  worldly man can not judge Spiritual matters he has no knowledge of such things

First to my Christians friends; every time I hear someone say ‘I do not understand how someone could do such a thing’ I want to shout “READ THE BOOK!” Our text makes it clear those who are apart from Christ are going to live in darkness because they do not want to live in the light Isaiah 9:2, John 3:19.  Our job is not to condemn, point out the error of their ways with Grace yes, but pray for conversion, pray for the Holy Spirit to act upon their harden hearts. After all we we want them in Heaven Glorifying God forever too!

To the unbeliever; The phraseknowledge is power is often attributed to Francis Bacon, from his Meditationes Sacrae (1597). It was a favorite quote of Thomas Jefferson used at least 4 times.  One question that everyman asks in some form or another is ‘this all there is’ or ‘where will I spend eternity.’

There are many books claiming to have answers but only one has been published more than any other.  If I was an unbeliever and I knew that the most widely published book in the history of man was available for free to read I would be wondering what all the fuss was about. Then knowing that I was incapable of understanding it on my own accord (see our main Text) I would ask the Holy Spirt to enlighten me with the truth. Unless of course the truth is unimportant to you?

Armor UP

Some are blaming God for COVID-19 and some the Devil of course both are wrong.

The point I would like to make this morning is that the devil will engage in a false advertising campaign of sorts to spread fear and anxiety in trouble times. It is therefore incumbent upon every “true Christian” to sort out the false truths being shared on social media and the like. We need to armor up and “Be strong in the Lord… that we might be able to stand against the wiles (deceptions) of the devil.”

If you see something false point it out and share the truth, help calm the fears and anxiety of others.

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-11

La armadura de Dios (RVR 1960)

Por lo demás, hermanos míos, fortaleceos en el Señor, y en el poder de su fuerza. 11 Vestíos de toda la armadura de Dios, para que podáis estar firmes contra las asechanzas del diablo.

He withstood the Left’s onslaught

A new documentary sheds light on the life and judicial philosophy of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Clarence Thomas documentaryThis was the setting in 1991: a conservative appointment to the Supreme Court; reflexive opposition from the left; a contentious hearing followed by last minute, conflicted, and dubious allegations of sexual misconduct that almost derailed the nomination. While that describes the more recent confirmation earings of now-Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh, 27 years earlier Clarence Thomas (pictured) also made an impassioned plea of innocence:

Thomas (at his 1991 confirmation hearings): “This is a circus. It’s a national disgrace. And from my standpoint as a black American, as far as I’m concerned it is a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves.”

It was the hard life he led up to that moment that gave Thomas the strength to endure the attempt to destroy his life, according to Michael Pack, director of the new biographical documentary “Created Equal” that hit selected theatres last weekend (See trailer below).

Thomas (in the film): “I was supposed to go to school in the afternoon, but my mother wasn’t there to make me go, because she had to go to work. So, I wandered the streets by myself. I was six.”

Says Pack: “He had surmounted so many difficulties in his life and he had such resilience, and in spite of extreme difficulties … he refused to define himself as a victim.”

The film details Thomas’ rebellion against his Catholic faith, identification with the black Marxist power movement of the 1960s, and a fresh encounter with God that washed away his anger and gave purpose to his life. Pack says that new strength and purpose continues to serve Thomas well, as the left has never given up trying to finish the lynching.

“At the end of the hearings, American people believed Justice Thomas 2 to 1,” Pack states. “But because the left has continued its unceasing assault on him, it’s sort of flipped the other way.”

BreakPoint: Are there Limits to Denying Reality?

When Men Claim What Belongs to Women

by:  &  G. Shane Morris

Nothing describes the social pressure to conform better than Hans Christian Andersen’s parable, “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”

Do you remember it? An emperor hires two weavers who claim they can make a garment so fine it’s only visible to the very wise. Of course, they end up not making any clothes at all. They pocket the emperor’s money and send him on procession through the city naked.

No one—not even the emperor himself—dares to say anything, thinking if they do, it means they’re fools.  Only a child is willing to shout out, “The emperor is naked!”

Each week, I come across a headline that makes me think, “Finally! This has got to be our naked emperor moment. Somebody is going to call this out.”

Last week, for instance, the spokeswoman for a British doula association was forced to resign after reminding her social media followers that people who have wombs are… women.  Commenting on a health awareness campaign that encouraged “everyone aged 25-64 with a cervix” to get screened for cancer, the longtime birth coach wrote, “I am not a ‘cervix owner .  .  .’ I am a woman: an adult human female.”

In response, angry transgender activists barraged Doula UK with complaints, ultimately driving someone willing to say the obvious out of her job.

Honestly, I just cannot imagine that the majority of people really want to live in a world where birth coaches aren’t allowed to call women, “women.” In fact, it may be that we are ready to put at least some limits on the men who demand all the rights and privileges of women.

For example, a biological man who filed complaints against Vancouver beauty salons because they wouldn’t wax his private area was just told by a Canadian court that he doesn’t have a right to force female beauticians to touch him.

Then there’s the ongoing custody battle over a 7-year-old Texas boy whose mother is convinced he’s really a she and therefore should dress, live, and medically transition into girlhood. Since we last talked about this story on “BreakPoint This Week,” a Dallas judge refused to grant the mother sole custody—a big improvement over what the jury had recommended.

And, resistance is growing in the academy, too. A recent essay at The American Mind describes how a growing group of radical feminists are bravely taking on the demands of transgender activists, having realized that their very existence as women is threatened by increasingly unrealistic demands. In response, they’ve earned a derogatory nickname: “TERF’s” which stands for “Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists.”

Camille Paglia—a hard-left feminist, lesbian professor—has been mercilessly attacked for refusing to accept the claim that men who feel like women really are women. Paglia and other “gender critical” feminists think there’s something essential to biological womanhood that no man can never appropriate, claim or understand – no matter how much makeup, hormone therapy, or surgery he endures.

As she told the Weekly Standard in 2017: “The cold biological truth is sex changes are impossible. Every single cell of the human body remains coded with one’s birth gender for life.”

It sounds like something a conservative Christian would say.

The very fact that we now find ourselves as Christians lining up with radical feminists makes me wonder if we are, in fact, approaching a turning point. After all, the stakes are only getting higher. Sports championships that belong to women are already being given to men.

Will scholarships designated for women be taken by men? And what will happen when a federal small business grant program for women entrepreneurs is claimed by a man? Or when women no longer are able to represent their country in the Olympics because men claim all of the spots on their team?

We will see whether there’s a limit to what people will sit back and take. I suspect there is. After all, the emperor just can’t walk around naked forever.

The Lies of Feminism

| MARCH 4, 2019

Sometimes we think of the early feminists as though they were just sweet little ladies who wanted more legal rights. They didn’t deny the existence of God, and they pleaded for fair treatment for both women and slaves. They played an instrumental role in the ending of slavery in America, a work for which we should be grateful. This monumental work alone should be our first clue: they were not sweet little old ladies. They were not wallflowers. They were tenacious, hard-working, and knew how to land a political punch.

But let’s be clear about something: what you believe about women and men is not a political issue, it’s a theological one. What you believe about people—our nature, our purpose—flows from what you believe about God. What the early feminists believed about God’s design for women and men, particularly in how we relate to each other, is still alive today. A quick perusal of the writing of women such as Susan B. Anthony and Emma Goldman tells us that they believed that being a wife means little more than being a housekeeper. It is a life of drudgery, mistreatment, and servitude. Wives are essentially parasites that are socially and individually useless. One must be stupid to believe that marriage is anything other than a commitment to failure and misery. In order for a woman to be truly free, she must not enter into a marital union. Women must be freed not from sin, but from men.

This is part of why it is so befuddling that Christians today are increasingly comfortable with labeling themselves as feminists. In our historically ignorant meme generation, it’s difficult to overcome the supposedly simple definition of feminism that is often accompanied by an image of those early feminists as doily-loving grandmas. Some still try to sell the “Feminism is the radical notion that women are people” line. It’s a lie that is somehow both blithe and misleading, but at least it’s short enough to fit in an Instagram post…

This is not a new phenomenon of course but in the age of computers and such,  there is really no excuse for a “believer”  not living daily as a Berean (Acts 17:11). Yet far to many follow the Jews of old, Jeremiah 6:10 ESV “To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ears are uncircumcised, they cannot listen; behold, the word of the Lord is to them an object of scorn; they take no pleasure in it.” or those of the modern church Paul warned of 2 Timothy 2:3-4  “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”  I cannot count the number of times I have heard “my Pastor says or said” and when I ask, great but what does the Word of God say?  It is a rarity when I do not get that deer in the headlights look of confusion. – Mike
