Three (3) topics within today’s quote need further unpacking. They are Suffering, and the Author of Suffering, and Righteous Anger.
Why is it that some within the “ranks” of Christianity falsely claim that believers should not suffer? If they do suffer, then just like Job’s “friends,” they advise that it can only be because of some untold sin, not enough faith, or a direct attack by Satan. I often wonder what the foundation of their theology is. Certainly not the Holy Bible; even some of the worst translations today would, if genuinely read, not come to that conclusion.
Today’s devotion asks the question: “The Problem of Suffering.” Besides the obvious that no one wants to suffer, the problem, at least my observations, is that few “Christians” truly understand the doctrine of suffering.
