Most folks today think “Christian music” is anything they can hear on stations like K-love or SiriusXM. Many churches have full rock bands that get the blood and emotions pumping. Long gone are the days of singing psalms and traditional hymns.
Let me be open: I listen to K-love and SiriusXM (the message) when driving around; they serve a purpose. I am a firm believer that the Bible tells us to “go forth” and make disciples. We are to go into the world, not bring the world into the sanctuary of God. I will never get used to rock bands in worship services, but I believe they, too, can have a place in a church’s outreach ministry.
