We seem to think that the OT is only about God’s chosen people, the Nation of Israel, but that is wrong.
If you asked the majority of folks (not scholars) who identify as “Christians” where Christ can be found in the Bible, the overwhelming response would be the New Testament. A minority would say both the New and Old Testaments. In this case, the Minority rules. Of course, never take my word for it; always be a Berean. But I will offer one example below from Jesus Himself:
When Jesus says, “Do not think that I came to do away with or undo the Law [of Moses] or the [writings of the] Prophets; I did not come to destroy but to fulfill – Matthew 5:17 If the OT is not for us, for the Nation of Israel only why would Jesus even mention this? Why place any importance on the Law and Prophets? Simple answer because they all point to Christ, our redeemer.
