COMMENT/CONTEXT

The first thing I think we need to establish is what the Sabbath is:

SABBATH (שַׁבָּת, shabbath). A day of complete rest from secular work following six days of labor. Established and modeled by God.

I am pretty sure that everyone has heard someone say, “I am a New Testament believer; the Old Testament (God’s Law) does not apply to me.” Of course, if they really are NT Christians, they would know Jesus came not to destroy (undo or do away with) the law but to fulfill it (Matt 5:17).

Since becoming a Christian, I have always considered the Sabbath as follows: If God rested after six days of creation (work), am I better than God, or do I need rest, too?
