Yes, posted a day late due to sketchy internet, Mia Coppa.

I recently read an article that said statements like this confuse one’s perspective on Salvation. Really? It is clear to me, and I would venture to say, even the most casual of individuals studying Reformed theology that Luther is herein referring to the Five Solas. You can not have Faith alone without Christ alone nor can you have Christ Alone without Glory to God alone, etc. This is in my humble opinion Luther’s point.
Most folks are very familiar with the oft-quoted verses about Salvation through Faith:
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10
Today I wish to look at another verse often overlooked in this conversation, Galatians 2:16:
yet we know that a man is not justified [and placed in right standing with God] by works of the Law, but [only] through faith in [God’s beloved Son,] Christ Jesus. And even we [as Jews] have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law. By observing the Law no one will ever be justified [declared free of the guilt of sin and its penalty]. AMP
