Events that happened here in my home state of Florida mean to me that a terrible evil is plaguing our country and that Americans should return to a loving God who is the answer to sin through Jesus. And while I don’t believe this will happen, nonetheless, God has provided a solution through His son, the Christ. Evil will surface it’s ugly head until the end of the world: finally Jesus will rule forever. Until that time, it will appear that evil wins over the forces of good.

T.F., While I agree that a “terrible evil” (abortion, same sex unions, violent video games, lack of family values etc, etc. ) is plaguing our country we as Christians must be careful and diligent in not blaming every tragedy on evil.
Hurricane Katrina which brought me to Mississippi comes to mind, many a “preacher” spouted off how it was the evil of New Orleans that brought it upon the people. Really what about the 600,000 + MS residents effected by Katrina that did not live in NO?
Man is inherently, that is born evil, Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me”,
Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it” ,
John 3:19 “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.” I could of course go on and on but the point is made and I need not beat the dead horse. As you note until Americans (man) return (repent and make Christ Lord of their lives) to a loving God, evil will continue to run rampant in the world.
