Violence— A Problem of the Heart

Image result for Violence--- A Problem of the Heart

Violence…
is a problem of the heart…
and it’s from this point…
that analysis needs to start.
For the society we’re in…
has been desensitized today…
by things seen on television,
video games and words some say.
And there’s a bitterness…
and anger that seems to linger…
that causes many to become violent…
when something becomes a trigger.
And like a drunk driver’s wrong…
and the vehicle’s not to blame…
the gun’s not at fault…
when a crazed shooter goes insane.
And like a pharmacy is not at fault…
with a drug addict buys or deals…
the problem is in the heart…
of one who kills, destroys, and steals.
For there is much violence…
seen in many homes today…
and children are desensitized…
when they witness any violence this way.
So what can we do…
as a society to make a change…
we need to have God in our hearts…
so our lives will not be the same.
We need to invite God back…
in our schools and in our homes…
then transformation can occur…
when the Love of Christ is known.
For only God can being healing…
to the hardness of any heart…
so He is the Key to our future…
where all violence will depart.

Fighting For Your Life

Image result for fighting for our lives spiritually

Fighting for your life…
every step of the way…
is not what God wants for us…
is my message for today.
Cause many have had to fight…
the battles that rage within…
but we have to find the Peace of God…
for those battles to come to an end.
For negative words and deeds…
get embedded in our minds and hearts…
so we have to be renewed by God’s Word…
in order to get new fresh starts.
For a deep cleansing is needed…
to get the “dirt” out that’s been thrown…
but unfortunately for many of us…
the negative is all that’s been known.
But when we realize God’s Word…
is the Truth upon which we can rely…
then we can finally discard…
every painful word, deed, and lie.
And we can stop fighting our way…
through negative words that repeatedly attack…
as we declare God’s Word over our lives…
and send every negative word back.
For we will no longer receive…
the negative words that have been spoken…
for we will be renewed by Him…
and no longer be wounded and broken.

What The Enemy Meant For Harm…

As I remember some of the events in my life that occurred during this week several years ago, the words came to me, “What the enemy meant for harm, God turned it around for your good.” My whole life has changed since these events… and yours can too.

Revealing what’s in our hearts…
is not always easy to do…

FORGIVING—is Not Forgetting

As victims of abuse…

many make this mistake…

trying to stay friends with abusers…

but continued abuses we take.

For we associate the need to forgive…

with the belief that we need to forget.

But when we pretend it didn’t happen…

more abuses occur that we will regret.

For forgiveness does not mean forgetting…

it just means releasing the hurts of the past…

for God is our Righteous Judge…

and vindication is part of His tasks.

But to extend forgiveness…

without necessitating a  change of heart…

allows the evil to continue…

and that cycle that many just can’t depart.

Matthew 18:21-22

“Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

The bible does command us to forgive those who have sinned against us, I too have search and do not find where God commands us to forget. That is not to say God in His loving-kindness can not and does not graciously erase the bad memories of many believers; but not all.
The typical question I get at this point is “why not me”, and my response can only be truthfully I do not know, I am not God. What I do know, what trust in, and hope you do too, is His sovereignty. He controls all things, has a plan for all things to His glory even this. I know that a day with God is better than any day without no matter the circumstances.

“Never, Never, Ever, say these 15 comments to a Victim of Abuse”

Sometimes folks with the best intentions can say the most harmful things. In this article Sue Cass points out some of those very hurtful things one should never say to a victim of abuse. In fact unless you are a trained counselor, I would recommend the less said the better. That is not to say shun the person, but to chose ones words VERY carefully.

Sue Cass is an abuse survivor and Christian author.  She blogs at Cyber Support Group https://cybersupportgroup.org, Elah Ministries Inc. http://www.elahministries.com, and Sue’s Pen2PaperBlog https://suespen2paper.com .  I recommend her books and blogs to you.
