Jackson City Council Buffer Zone – Scheduled to Take Effect October 31, 2019

Pro-Life Community Meeting In Preparation for October 31
6:00 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2019

The pro-life community is gathering together Monday, October 28, for a strategic informational and planning session in response to the City of Jackson’s recent buffer zone ordinance.

“We invite all concerned pro-life citizens to attend and learn more about what the new restrictions will mean for sidewalk counseling, as well as what legal steps are being taken to challenge this attack on our First Amendment rights,” states PLM President Laura Duran.

“Come pray with brothers and sisters in Christ for the Lord to intervene on our behalf, and for unity within the greater pro-life community as we attempt to minister effectively at the state’s last abortion facility.”

The meeting will be held at:

DaySpring Community Church
1100 Clinton Business Park Drive
Clinton, MS 39056

If you plan on attending please RSVP.

Walk for Life

The 2019 PLM Walk for Life, held on Saturday, October 19, was a great success by all accounts. Over 100 walkers, many wearing bright orange Walk for Life T-shirts, made the 2 mile trek from St. Richard Church to Mississippi’s only remaining abortion facility. There they joined 40 Days for Life colleagues for a brief ceremony before releasing balloons and praying for the unborn, their parents and for an end to legalized abortion. On return to St. Richard, the participants were served a delicious brunch prepared by the Knights of Columbus.

Prizes were awarded to the individual and team walkers who raised the most pledges. Perennial individual fund raiser David Dabney again came in first place, while the Dearing family won the team prize. PLM Treasurer Ron Nederhoed was thrilled to announce that over $11,000 was raised in support of PLM’s life-affirming activities.
