For there is [only] one God, and [only] one Mediator
between God and mankind, the Man Christ Jesus,
who gave Himself as a ransom [a substitutionary sacrifice to atone] for all,
the testimony given at the right and proper time.  – 1 Tim 2:5-6

MEDIA’TOR, n. One that interposes between parties at variance for the purpose of reconciling them.

1. By way of eminence, Christ is the mediator, the divine intercessor through whom sinners may be reconciled to an offended God. Tim.2.

Christ is a mediator by nature, as partaking of both natures divine and human; and mediator by office, as transacting matters between God and man.

Matthew Henry’s Bible Commentary (concise) 1 Tim 2:1-7

“The disciples of Christ must be praying people; all, without distinction of nation, sect, rank, or party. Our duty as Christians, is summed up in two words; godliness, that is, the right worshipping of God; and honesty, that is, good conduct toward all men. These must go together: we are not truly honest, if we are not godly, and do not render to God his due; and we are not truly godly, if not honest. What is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, we should abound in. There is one Mediator, and that Mediator gave himself a ransom for all. And this appointment has been made for the benefit of the Jews and the Gentiles of every nation; that all who are willing may come in this way, to the mercy-seat of a pardoning God, to seek reconciliation with him. Sin had made a quarrel between us and God; Jesus Christ is the Mediator who makes peace. He is a ransom that was to be known in due time. In the Old Testament times, his sufferings, and the glory that should follow, were spoken of as things to be revealed in the last times. Those who are saved must come to the knowledge of the truth, for that is God’s appointed way to save sinners: if we do not know the truth, we cannot be ruled by it.”

  1. Too many calling themselves Christian do not see that Jesus is the way to God and the mediator between God and man. They have made Jesus into their god, instead of accepting him to be the son of man and son of God, who really died for the sins of all, doing the will of his heavenly Father, the Only One True God.

Are you saying Jesus is not God? Do you deny the Triune Godhead, Father Son and Holy Spirit? While I completely agree that the bible teaches that Christ Jesus is the one and only true mediator, the only path to the Father He is God equal in all aspects.

      • Nowhere in Scriptures is written that Jesus in all aspects is equal to God. Jesus himself declared himself being less than God and not able to do anything without his heavenly Father God. In case Jesus is the All-knowing God than he would be telling lies on many occasions, the same as God then would have done, though the Bible tells us that God does not tell lies and that Jesus was without sin, meaning he also did not tell lies.

Jesus, the man was of course not equal to God, Jesus Christ the God man, was in all ways equal. John 1:1; “The Word was God”, no one who has ever studied even the basic text in depth especially in the original Greek denies this refers to Jesus Christ. Matthew 1:23; Immanuel (which means, God with us) again another verse that is without question referring to Jesus as God. Mark 2:5-7; Son, your sins are forgiven.” Was Jesus a sinner, and a fake? After all only God can forgive sins. John 5:18; he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God. Jesus claimed to be equal;y God. John 20:27-29; Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Others claimed Him equally as God.

To deny Christ as God, part of the Trinity is to deny the basic tenets of the Christian Faith. One can not have God there own way. It is God on His terms the way He wrote the Scripture (using man of course) and a careful study of said scripture with a prayerful and yielded heart always reveals His truth.
