Michael Poirier
I retired from the Army in 1994 and lost my way. I ended up in prison, and it was truly the best thing that could have happened. There Christ rescued me from my depravity (John 3:19) and made me whole again. Since my release in 2006, I have worked in some form of ministry, either prison or construction/disaster relief (sometimes both), and more recently as a Chaplain/Medic for Veterans traveling the US on cross-country motorcycle runs. I have also occasionally served as a Hospice Chaplain for members of our church and their families.
I serve as a Missionary from Pioneer Valley Baptist Church in Chicopee, MA. I am currently based in Jackson, MS. In 2012, I was sent to the mission field to help Rebuild Lakeshore, a ministry of Lakeshore Baptist Church in Lakeshore, MS, complete its post-Katrina building projects. I had been serving there part-time for many years before being called into full-time service. While there, I served as project manager/volunteer coordinator and also served as Sr. Volunteer Chaplain at the local Hancock County jail.
After completing that project in late 2015, we relocated to Jackson, MS, to assist a church in building a new sanctuary, where we had previously helped in Lakeshore many times. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, the ministry changed, and from 2016-2020 we shifted focus. Our twofold mission has been to support churches with their construction needs and to serve communities through disaster relief efforts. See the Faith Builders Ministry Page on this site.
In November 2017, I was honored to be accepted as an associated member of the Reformed Baptist Network (RbNet). Starting in 2019, old injuries to my back and shoulder began to get worse, and I have had to curtail most building projects and relief missions. Once again, God has provided a means to serve.
I continue to serve as Chaplain/Medic with Mission M25 on the Southern Route of Run For The Wall each May and as Chaplain/Medic on the new Sandbox Route as we ride our motorcycles across America bringing awareness of the thousands of Missing and POW American Service members still unaccounted for. In addition, I serve as Chaplain/Medic with Tribute to Fallen Soldiers visiting Gold Star families all across the nation.

In February 2024, I was honored to be accepted as an endorsed Chaplain with this outstanding organization.
I have two beautiful daughters and 7 grandchildren. I hold a Master’s in Theology and am pursuing a Ph.D. in Christian Apologetics.
