Made Righteous In HIM!

As Isaiah foretold the Messiah would be not only ignored but completely rejected by man and so acquainted with grief He would be known as the “Man of many sorrows.”  He whom God stuck down and afflicted with our sins.

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:3-4

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. ISAIAH 53:3-4

Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)

Man deep in his core knows that there is a God (Romans 1:20). Some on there own will try and live a “good” life that they deem acceptable. Unfortunately they will ALWAYS fall short of the standard set forth by the righteous Holy God of all creation.

So what is man to do, give up?  Far from it, God from before time understood man would screw up, couldn’t measure up and had a plan (Ephesians 1:11) in place for him. Christ is the plan (1 Peter 1:13-21), the only means of our being made acceptable (righteous) before God. Are you on God’s plan or your own?

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Al que no conoció pecado, por nosotros lo hizo pecado, para que nosotros fuésemos hechos justicia de Dios en él. Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)

Wages of Sin

The Book of Romans is often described as an explanation of the Old Testament in the Light of Christ. The Gospel and the Righteousness of God are its main themes. In an effort to make clear these themes man’s sin nature is clearly expressed throughout. Probably the most famous or oft quoted is Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned…”

That leaves a conundrum, for a Righteous God can not have sinful servants running around they must be punished. What is the penalty for this sinfulness?

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)

Porque la paga del pecado es muerte, mas la dádiva de Dios es vida eterna en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro.

Note that God is not such a “hardcase” that He leaves no man with no way out. There is an escape from Eternal Damnation, it is called Salvation in Christ alone, through Faith in Him Alone to the Glory of God Alone.

Is the Holy Spirit tugging on your heart strings? Answer God’s call Repent of your sins and make Christ not only the savior of your life but Lord of your life today.
