A good friend sent me the following. Considering the current state of the church in America I felt it worth posting here. For if we leave out God;s wrath, man’s total depravity (sin) and the only solution for that sin, the cross, we are left with nothing.

 In The Kingdom of God in America (1937), H. Richard Niebuhr critiqued the liberal social gospel, describing its message as:

“A God without wrath brought men without sin into a kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a cross.”
